Worf Gets Denied

Poor, Worf. I love him, but all this really makes me sad.

The New Kind

The art in The New Kind looks amazing.

Sadly, the story sounds terrible. Well, maybe not terrible. It's just a rehash of standard sci-fi elements.

"Darvin and Yuka (17 and 18) fall in love but have never physically met — a psychic link connects them. They are The New Kind; The next link in Humanity's evolution. If they ever find each other, it will cause a chain reaction, instantly transforming all young people into god-like beings. But before that can happen, Darvin and Yuka must survive an evil force hunting them."

First footage: 'JODOROWSKY'S DUNE'

Wow, I don't even know what to say. I'm a huge fan of Dune and I cannot wait for this documentary to be released. Watch the first two minutes below.

io9 says:

"Alejandro Jodorowsky's Dune was an incredibly ambitious project, one that, had he gotten his way, would have included music by Pink Floyd, designs by Moebius and HR Giger, and Salvador Dali, Orson Welles, and Gloria Swanson in the cast."

Quiet Earth has been on top of this story with more about the doc:

"The documentary covers cult film director Alejandro Jodorowsky and his 1974 attempt to create a big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert's seminal science fiction novel, DUNE. While the ambitious production collapsed after two years, Jodorowsky's team of then relatively unknown concept artists continued exploring the themes and styles started on the project and ended up changing modern science fiction forever: H.R. Giger went on to Ridley Scott's masterpiece ALIEN, Dan O'Bannon wrote ALIEN and TOTAL RECALL, Jean "Moebius" Giraud created artwork and futuristic worlds for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, TRON, and THE FIFTH ELEMENT and Chris Foss would go on to work on ALIEN and SUPERMAN."

'Star Wars: Begins' Filmumentary

I heard a bit on the radio this morning and I discovered something awesome.

Filmmaker Jamie Benning has created the most comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars ever.  The uber-fan pulls in deleted scenes, radio drama clips, commentaries, interviews, out-takes and more to create the ultimate documentary on the making of a classic.

I'm about a half hour in and loving it. I had to pause to let everyone know about this amazing fan-made project.
